Pilates is a specialized system of exercises that improves strength, posture, and motor control that developed from principles of Joseph Pilates. The three guiding Pilates principles are: whole body health, whole body commitment, and breath. Pilates can dramatically transform the way your body looks, feels and performs. The Pilates approach allows a therapist to create an environment than can facilitate healthy movement patterns. According to Joseph Pilates, “Physical fitness is the first requisite of happiness…physical fitness is the attainment and maintenance of a uniformly developed body with a sound mind fully capable of naturally, easily, and satisfactorily performing our many and varied daily tasks with spontaneous zest and pleasure.” Our goal is to create positive movement experiences through Pilates.
